OCEAN has home country representatives throughout the world
who are responsible for the screening and selection of high
school students that wish to participate in the cultural exchange
program. Responsibilities of the home country representative
include, but are not limited to, the following:

 | Interviewing prospective students and assisting them in | |
| the completion of the required paperwork. | ||
| Testing the students' oral and written English skills. | |
| Evaluating the students' maturity level and ability to adapt | |
| to a new environment. | ||
| Providing the students and their natural parents with | |
| orientations prior to the students' departure for the U.S. | ||
| Arranging the students' travels to the U.S. and making | |
| certain that they have round-trip airline tickets. |
