WELCOME
OCEAN (Organization for Cultural Exchange Among Nations) is a
non-profit organization which sponsors international exchange
students, ages 15-18, and places them in host families and high
schools throughout the U.S. for a semester or academic year. OCEAN
has been designated by the U.S. Department of State, and on the
basis of materials submitted and reviewed, the Council on Standards
for International Educational Travel (CSIET) has granted full listing to
OCEAN in the 2009-2010 Advisory List.
About OCEAN:
OCEAN was founded in 1994 in Tempe, Arizona. The purpose of our
program is to promote international understanding, cultural
awareness and academic excellence. As a relatively small organization,
we pride ourselves in the ability to carefully screen and select our
students, as well as meet each and every one of them in person at
our host country orientation. During this orientation, we thoroughly
prepare the students and provide them with the information they will
need to have a successful semester or year in the United States.
While participating in the OCEAN program, students will experience
political influences and cultural differences within the host community
and at school through specific studies such as U.S. Government and
U.S. History. In return, the host families and their community will
learn about the student's home country and traditions, thereby
promoting international understanding and friendship.

| Open Your Hearts and Homes to a Foreign Exchange Student! OCEAN is currently seeking volunteer host families for international exchange students, ages 15-18, who are scheduled to arrive in the U.S. in August of 2010. Host families come in all shapes and sizes, to include single parents and senior citizens, as well as married couples who are either with or without children. Students are fully insured, proficient in English and come with their own spending money to cover personal expenses.
